The Ortofon Concorde Music Black LVB MM Phono Cartridge is the flagship model in the Concorde Music range, engineered for listeners who want highly detailed and precise vinyl reproduction. It combines a Shibata diamond stylus with a lightweight boron cantilever and Ortofon’s Nano Tube suspension system to deliver accurate groove tracking and excellent high-frequency detail.

The LVB name refers to Ludwig van Beethoven, with this special-edition cartridge introduced to commemorate the 250th anniversary of his birth. Its advanced construction is designed to extract a high level of musical information from your records while maintaining controlled and accurate tracking.

Shibata Diamond Stylus

The Shibata stylus features an extended contact area with the record groove, allowing it to retrieve more of the information contained within the vinyl. Its advanced profile is particularly effective at reproducing high frequencies while maintaining excellent tracking performance.

The stylus is mounted to a boron cantilever, which offers very low moving mass and helps the cartridge respond quickly to changes in the groove. The larger groove contact area can also help distribute tracking pressure more effectively, reducing record and stylus wear. The Shibata stylus has an approximate lifespan of 400 hours and can be replaced when required.

Advanced Nano Tube Suspension

Moving Magnet Cartridge Technology

The Ortofon Concorde Music Black LVB is a Moving Magnet (MM) cartridge. In an MM design, a small magnet is attached to the cantilever and moves in relation to fixed coils as the stylus follows the record groove.

Moving Coil (MC) cartridges use a different arrangement, with the coils attached to the cantilever. MC designs can offer low moving mass but generally produce a lower output, meaning they may require a compatible phono stage or additional gain.
